On September 3, the Indiana Secured School Safety Board allocated $27 million to school safety projects across the state, with most funds directed to school resource officer programs — 328 projects received over $19.6 million — while additional amounts went to new safety equipment, staff firearms training, and student support services. Gov. Mike Braun said first-time applicants were prioritized and charter school grants were capped at $100,000 to ensure balanced funding.
Debra Collier’s School of Dance added Emma Skryzypczak as a modern dance teacher—she brings strong credentials from Fort Wayne Ballet and academic honors from Interlochen Arts Academy and Butler University. Her appointment will help the school continue providing expert dance training to its students.
