  • Officials and local repair shops warn drivers that icy roads today + require extra caution while navigating routes across Michiana.  WNDU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NICTD adjusted South Shore Line service this week by replacing some trains with buses between South Bend and Michigan City because of winter weather (officials said remote sections on the rail line made quick rescues difficult). The change kept nearly 1,700 riders safe on Friday.  WVPE
  • Organizers of Indiana Child Safety Call-In Day mobilized local advocates on Wednesday to urge lawmakers to improve child safety systems. They provided guidance and resources to help participants reach out to officials in Mishawaka + the event underscored the need for urgent reform.  WNDU
  • Community advocates held Indiana Child Safety Call-In Day on Wednesday to urge lawmakers to close child safety gaps, providing guidance, talking points and resources. They addressed rising child suicide concerns and urged improvements in local systems (schools, health care, child services).  WNDU

    Long time administrator who passed away recently from heart attack will be honored this Friday Night. Coach Mike Lightfoot former Head Coach at Bethel will share at half time of the Goshen- Mishawaka boys basketball game. I scholarship fund is being launched in Mr Troyers name for a Mishawaka student to receive to attend Bethel University
