EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Feb. 9, the Triton School Board heard details on bonds that may fund repairs and tech upgrades across the school corporation. The board will hold public hearings in March and April while bonds could be issued in the fall. InkFreeNews
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph County redevelopment commission approved demolition of the property at 320 Lincolnway East in Osceola on Tuesday to prepare for a new overpass at the Ash Road + Lincolnway intersection. The project is expected to span several years. WNDU
- ➤ South Bend city crews began filling potholes in Michiana on Feb. 10 (to improve road conditions), and residents can expect smoother travel once repairs are completed. WNDU
- ➤ Mishawaka honored new Fire Chief Jester as he takes charge of the fire department while also celebrating Chief Woodward, whose retirement is set for Feb. 13 (recognized for years of dedicated service). Local officials praised both leaders for their commitment to public safety. City of Mishawaka
