  • Wilson Park in Mishawaka will add year-round tubing, skiing, and snowboarding with a $1.5 million grant funding a synthetic surface that includes four 250-ft tubing lanes, two ski/snowboard lanes, a new carpet lift, and disc golf improvements, with work finishing in fall 2026.  WNDU

  • In 2025, St. Joseph County saw record tourism with a 14% rise in hotel demand and sports tourism adding $29 million, according to a Visit South Bend Mishawaka report — findings that helped support nearly 13,000 jobs and a $1.5 billion economic impact.  WNDU

  • Leonard Moore, a Notre Dame football standout, partnered with Gentlemen and Scholars plus Team Excel to host a 'Tackle Attendance' Touchdown Session at Clay International Academy and Edison Middle School, supporting South Bend Community Schools by encouraging regular student attendance.  WSBT
  • John Glenn High School football coach Ron Brown resigned on Friday, Feb. 13 and will continue serving as the school's assistant principal. He compiled a 3-16 record in two seasons.  WNDU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New Feeling Massage on Lincolnway East was closed by the St. Joseph County Department of Health after an inspection following a complaint revealed violations. The closure follows new county licensing rules.  WNDU

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Humane Society of St. Joseph is hosting a blood drive today at 2506 Grape Road in Mishawaka in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana. The first 25 blood donors will generate a $5 donation while each donor after that triggers a $10 donation (donors also receive goody bags).  WSBT
  • Memorial Hospital of South Bend was named among the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Modern Healthcare for 2026, marking the only honor for a facility in northern Indiana *Hospital leaders credit teamwork and clinical innovation for the achievement*.  InkFreeNews

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two longtime youth soccer clubs in northern Indiana are merging to create the Northern Indiana Football Club, which will simplify competition for families and coaches while reducing travel times.   • Notre Dame basketball refocused on improvement after an 89-81 loss to SMU on Tuesday. The team will face Georgia Tech today at noon as coach Micah Shrewsberry works to fix defensive mistakes — aiming for a stronger performance.  WNDU
