  • In 1943, Mishawaka police reported that two teen boys fired a .22 caliber rifle bullet through the Ball Band plant window at 5:30 p.m., narrowly missing a workman. The report is part of a History Museum series showcasing local excerpts from the South Bend Tribune.  South Bend Tribune

  • Unity Gardens is hosting its annual Growing Summit on Saturday, March 14th with free classes on gardening, cooking, and exploring nature for local residents.  WSBT

  • Marian won a triple overtime game 73-65 against Culver Academies and claimed a sectional title Saturday, with seniors Terrance Lane and Brandon Foster leading the comeback.   • Two Bethel University swimmers — both graduates of Penn High — competed today at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship at the Elkhart Health and Aquatic Center, with Avery Woods placing 19th in the 100 butterfly and Ella Sherwood setting a personal best to qualify for the finals.  WNDU
