- ➤ Sugar Camp Days returns this weekend at Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle. The event runs Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring artisans demonstrating traditional crafts with handmade items available for purchase. WNDU
- ➤ George Wilson’s Park will add four 300-foot tubing lanes, two ski and snowboard lanes, and a 300-foot carpet lift in Fall 2026 to offer tubing, skiing and snowboarding on Neveplast’s synthetic surface—supported by a $1.5 million award from local tourism funds. City of Mishawaka

- ➤ Congressman Rudy Yakym announced that high school students in the 2nd district can enter this year’s Congressional Art Competition with submissions accepted from April 1 through April 8. Winning entries will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol and hang at South Bend Airport until May 2. InkFreeNews
- ➤ After a racist remark during a recent basketball game at Penn High School, NAACP will soon ask Penn Harris Madison Schools to provide cultural competency training for staff to better address such incidents. Superintendent Heather Short (PHM) apologized and said the district remains committed to respectful behavior. WVPE

- ➤ Gov. Mike Braun signed a law to upgrade certain animal cruelty acts to felony status & allow Hoosiers to free animals from hot cars. The new law will take effect on July 1. WNDU
