  • Bendix Woods will host the 53rd annual Sugar Camp Days on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. where visitors can see sap cook into syrup & tour the Sugar House and Sugar Bush, celebrating winter’s end with educational demonstrations.  WSBT
  • Resale to the Rescue will host its annual S/No Balls Dance on March 21 at St. Hedwig Memorial Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. to benefit local animal welfare groups and feature Memphis Underground and a cash bar (the shop has raised over $1.1 million in 10 years).  WSBT

CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Patrick's Day celebrations are scheduled at St. Hedwig Memorial Center on Tuesday, Mar. 17. The community-driven event will feature local performances and cultural displays for residents.  South Bend Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, Northridge basketball won its first Class 4A regional title in Marshall County (Freeman Schlabach hit several key free throws in the game's final minutes) as the Raiders beat South Bend Saint Joseph.  South Bend Tribune
  • Bremen’s record season ended in a tight 55-51 loss at Huntington North after Chase Devine scored 31 points in the regional championship on Saturday, March 14, while Triton claimed a dramatic regional win with a buzzer-beater that sends them toward the state finals next Saturday.  South Bend Tribune
  • East Chicago Central defeated Marian 78-74 in a Class 3A regional game at Michigan City High School on Saturday, Mar. 14; senior guard Jamarie Pollard scored 35 points to secure the win and end Marian’s season. Semistate pairings will be drawn Sunday at 2 p.m.  South Bend Tribune
  • Several Michiana-area high school boys basketball teams took part in regional championships on Saturday (Mar. 14) as they aimed for tournament advancement.  WNDU
