  • Activists, police and prosecutors gathered Friday at the Charles Martin Youth Center to denounce community violence. They urged adults to guide teens toward positive activities and break the cycle that affects homes, streets and businesses.  WSBT

  • Cat lovers gather at the Century Center today for Midwest Meow Fest, featuring cat-themed vendors, rescue groups, and a keynote by author Hannah Shaw at 11 a.m. Hosted by The Cat Lady Café + Humane Society of St. Joseph County, visitors can meet adoptable cats.  WNDU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Starting this fall, Notre Dame will cover at least half tuition for students in families earning under $200,000 and provide free tuition for those with incomes below $150,000 (additional aid may cover housing, fees, and food for lower-income families).  WSBT

  • The South Bend Cubs unveiled major upgrades to Four Winds Field as part of a $48 million renovation that features a new top deck, 12 luxury suites, expanded seating for 10,500, and a 20,000 sqft event center with a ballroom + rooftop bar.   • Grace College's Lancers defeated Cumberlands (Ky.) 82-74 on Friday to advance to the NAIA quarterfinals. They will face either LSU-Shreveport or Ave Maria today at 6 p.m. ET.  WNDU
  • Notre Dame women's basketball begins its NCAA Tournament game today at 2 p.m. against Fairfield on ESPN. The team improved its record to 22 to 10 after a nine game winning run when senior KK Bransford returned from a two month injury.  South Bend Tribune
