- ➤ Today, Mishawaka High School seniors can submit their college portfolios using a new program established by IU South Bend and the School City of Mishawaka that simplifies the admissions process by requiring only a short online form. The program is designed to boost local enrollment—over 65% of IU South Bend graduates already stay nearby—by allowing data sharing of transcripts during high school. WSBT
- ➤ Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced new education partnerships on Wednesday that join high schools with colleges, universities and businesses—helping teens gain work-based learning and career support for students who earn the enrollment and employment honors seals. The plan, created after new diploma requirements passed in December, aims to provide clear paths to education or the workforce. WSBT
- ➤ The South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership will host the WE+YOU Student Immersion Experience from April 4th to 5th to connect college students from Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan with local career opportunities. - ➤ The Mishawaka Recycling Center on 5th Street is extending its hours from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Friday and will open on Saturday (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) for its annual organic and hazardous waste disposal day. The extension comes in response to a recent storm that left behind brush, debris and spoiled perishable food due to power outages. WNDU

- ➤ Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed two executive orders on April 1st that will improve customer service for Hoosiers by updating the BMV's digital systems + streamlining INDOT's permit process. He said the orders build on past work to offer better state services. 95.3 MNC
- ➤ Power companies worked to restore electricity after Sunday's storms by repairing 323 damaged poles in Indiana and Michigan with at least 30 in Mishawaka near Hums Elementary on 12th Street where crews rebuilt damaged infrastructure. Many customers remained without power as restoration was slowed after Wednesday morning storms—power in South Bend and southwest Michigan was expected to be back by 3 p.m. Wednesday. WSBT
