  • On Monday, the St. Joseph County Public Library announced it expanded its Diapers & Dignity program using a $10,000 grant from Amazon Web Services’ 2024 St. Joseph Community Fund and additional library funds. A public event — offering a 10-pack of diapers per person while supplies last — will kick off the expanded service at 10:30 a.m. on April 30 at the Western Branch.  ABC57

BUSINESS NEWS

  • In December, Crystal Lake (Kosciusko County) and Clay Bottom Farm (Elkhart County) received grant funds from the USDA and Indiana State Department of Agriculture when Crystal Lake got $1,235,908 to install new equipment and Clay Bottom Farm received $65,000 for a delivery vehicle. The funding supports 17 projects under the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program to boost local food production and strengthen the supply chain.  ABC57

  • Gov Mike Braun announced on April 2 that Indiana’s new graduation framework will let high school students who earn the enrollment honors plus seal automatically join all seven public universities if they complete 75 work-based learning hours, hold a B average, and pass advanced classes—this diploma option will start next year for the class of 2029.  InkFreeNews

HEALTH NEWS

  • The USDA recalled Johnsonville Cheddar bratwursts produced on February 5th at a plant in Momence, Ill—about 22,672 pounds sold in 10 states including Indiana—after two consumers found hard plastic in some units, and no injuries were reported. Consumers should check packages for label code B9FOD and return or dispose of the product if found.  South Bend Tribune
