ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 17-year-old girl remains in critical condition after a pickup truck struck her near the intersection of Mishawaka Avenue and Logfellow Avenue at around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday—police said the driver showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. WSBT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Trail development is underway in southwest Michigan and Indiana as a new three-mile section of the Marquette Greenway in New Buffalo is now open, with a public ribbon cutting scheduled at 10:30 a.m. April 25. Other projects include expanding the Red Arrow Trail, building a Lakeshore Trail in Benton Harbor, and extending Buchanan’s McCoy’s Creek Trail to eventually connect with the trail running from Mishawaka to Niles, with construction planned for summer and later this year. - ➤ Ongoing construction on the Main Street bridge began Monday, April 14 and closed the northbound lanes until July—southbound lanes will close until mid October, leading drivers to use a detour on Grape Road. A $2.7 million repaving project on M139 in Berrien Springs will run through August and add to local delays. ABC57
