Goodwill Industries of Michiana will host six Military Veteran Stand Down events across six counties (St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Porter, and La Porte) to help veterans access resources like food, clothing, medical care, mental health services and job counseling.
The events are scheduled on May 17 in Kosciusko, June 21 in Elkhart, July 12 in St. Joseph, August 23 in La Porte, September 27 in Porter and October 25 in Marshall.
🏛️ Government
Indiana lawmakers passed a bill on April 17 that asks Illinois counties to join Indiana—aiming to offer lower taxes and more opportunities for people leaving Chicago's control.
So far, 33 Illinois counties held non-binding votes though none mentioned joining Indiana, and Gov. Mike Braun will review the bill next.
