  • A South Shore train collided with a semi truck at the Smilax Road crossing Saturday just after 8 p.m., and police closed the road between US 20 and Edison Road while advising drivers to use alternate routes; no injuries were reported.  WSBT

  • Saturday was National Prescription Drug Take Back Day when police and the Drug Enforcement Administration set up several collection sites across St. Joseph County. Mishawaka residents could drop off expired, unused and unwanted pill and liquid medications at locations like Mishawaka Fire 4 — needles were not accepted.  WSBT
