  • Ben Ganger, a data analyst from Goshen, was crowned Jeopardy! champion on Tuesday after answering 34 questions correctly with a 94% rate and finishing with $24,999 when all three contestants missed the final clue — he advanced to his second game on Wednesday.  South Bend Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the City of Mishawaka is providing a draft amendment to the PY 2024 Action Plan that includes funding changes over $30,000. A 30-day public comment period runs until May 30 plus public hearings are scheduled for May 14 at City Hall at 11:00 a.m. and in South Bend at 4:00 p.m., with both venues accessible.  City of Mishawaka
  • Indiana lawmakers completed the state budget on April 30 by setting aside up to $28 million for a South Shore Line upgrade to speed up travel between South Bend and Chicago. South Shore Line leaders still must secure $56 million in federal funds so that a new track alignment can cut 15 minutes off the ride—officials said.  95.3 MNC
