- ➤ Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014 will visit northern Indiana as part of its coast-to-coast tour with Norfolk Southern. It will make brief whistle-stops (June 5 in Argos and July 16 in Knox) to honor the nation's 250th anniversary. WVPE

- ➤ Gas prices in Michiana have soared to nearly $5 per gallon + some drivers now pay over $100 to fill tanks as residents tighten their budgets for work and travel. WNDU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Unity Gardens planted a free-to-pick orchard with Clay International Academy students yesterday, Apr. 30, where they planted fruit trees and learned basic gardening skills. The orchard will soon give the community fresh produce (according to director Katie Lane). WSBT
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Notre Dame men’s lacrosse earned multiple ACC honors ahead of the tournament as four players were named All-ACC — Lyght received Co-Defensive Player and Ricciardelli Goalie awards. Coach Corrigan, named ACC Coach of the Year, leads the team as they face Virginia in the semifinals Friday at 5 p.m. WNDU
- ➤ Notre Dame junior running back Aneyas Williams led last weekend’s Blue-Gold Game by scoring a touchdown after recovering from an elbow injury + now he aims to inspire a young backfield as coaches prepare for a long season. WNDU
- ➤ Penn High School girls tennis rallied with two three-set wins at their NIC match Thursday night against South Bend Saint Joseph's. Seniors Mary Kirleis and Amina Spahic led the comeback as the Kingsmen improved their NIC record to 5-0. South Bend Tribune
