  • On Sunday, May 4, nearly 300 people attended the LOGAN Center prom, an inclusive celebration for individuals with disabilities. The event featured tailored accommodations such as noise-canceling headphones and reduced strobe lights and was supported by community fundraising.  WVPE
  • Community meals are set up in the area with burger nights, fish fries, pork chop buffets, and spaghetti suppers scheduled from May 7 to May 15 at various American Legion posts, MR Falcons, and Knights of Columbus.   • NIPSCO clerical workers ratified a new contract ending their monthlong lockout and will return to work next week; the labor deal includes improved safety standards, wage increases, and enhanced benefits, resolving a stalemate that began on April 2.  95.3 MNC

  • Turkey Creek Regional Sewer District will issue a boil advisory for Enchanted Hills water customers beginning Friday, May 15, and the measure will last until tests confirm the water is safe.   • A former motel on East McKinley Avenue is set to be redeveloped into nearly 25 apartment units after the upcoming city council vote on rezoning on May 18—officials say plans include converting a former Asian market into a restaurant and demolishing nearby houses for new housing.  WSBT
