- ➤ Memorial Day parades were held on Monday, May 25 to honor fallen service members, with events taking place in Mishawaka and Osceola under clear skies. WNDU
- ➤ More than 300 motorcycle riders gathered Monday to support Deputy Jon Samuelson, who was shot on Friday at Franciscan Hospital and is now recovering at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The ride, organized by Warriors’ Oath VMC out of Plymouth, marked his 33rd birthday and showed strong community support. WSBT
- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County is preparing for the Vera Z. Dwyer Women Build — a rebranded event after years as the Muffet McGraw Women Build. WNDU
- ➤ A variety of festivals, art walks and community events kick off this week and continue through May 31. Highlights include a Revolutionary War lecture today at Lake Michigan College (Benton Harbor), a Studebaker car show in Mishawaka on May 29, and a community yard sale on May 30. South Bend Tribune

- ➤ After beating Park Tudor by a score of 11 to 3 on Saturday, the Saint Joe boys lacrosse team advanced to the Final Four and will face Evansville Memorial today in Brownsburg as they boost a season record of 12 to 3 on a six-game win streak. WNDU
- ➤ The Penn Girls Rugby team won the state championship on Monday morning at Kuntz Stadium when the Lady Kingsmen defeated Pendleton 34 to 10 (the game took place in Indiana). WSBT
- ➤ Local sectional play for the IHSAA softball state tournament series has started with games scheduled from May 25 through May 30 at venues such as Penn and Northridge — Penn will host a seven-team game on Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m. as the tournament unfolds. South Bend Tribune
