  • The Food Bank of Northern Indiana will distribute boxed and bagged food at 13 drive-through sites during June—food is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The schedule runs from June 4 to June 28 with stops at locations such as Knox United Methodist Church and Kennedy Academy.  South Bend Tribune
  • Food events are scheduled this week in Mishawaka and nearby towns, starting with a food truck lunch at Ball Band Biergarten, 230 Ironworks Ave, on June 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.—a burger night is set for Galien American Legion Post 344 on June 5 from 4 to 8 p.m., and several fish and chicken fry events with varied menus and prices are planned through June 14.  South Bend Tribune
  • From today through June 8, the South Bend area offers a series of events including a family movie night in Knox on June 4, an egg festival in Mentone from June 5–7, a beach bash in Cassopolis, and First Fridays in South Bend and Goshen. Other highlights include walking tours, a robotics battle in Mishawaka, a tractor showcase in LaPorte, a brew event in Michigan City, art fairs at Winona Lake, and lighthouse tours in St. Joseph—giving locals many choices for family fun.  South Bend Tribune
  • The Mishawaka Market opened on Sunday at Ironworks Plaza with 75 local vendors offering produce, crafts, baked goods, food trucks and live music, and the market will run every Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until September 28.  WSBT

  • Governor Mike Braun signed two new public safety laws Wednesday during a ceremonial bill signing. Senate Enrolled Act 324 stops charitable groups from posting bail for those accused of violent crimes and calls for ankle monitors in domestic violence cases while House Enrolled Act 1014 adds immigration status to sentencing factors and bans government funding for obscene performances.  95.3 MNC
