  • Mishawaka officials warn that a scam call posing as a Mishawaka Utilities employee threatens to cut off power if a 1-800 number is called; residents should hang up and report these calls at (574) 258-1630.  WSBT
  • Berrien County police arrested two Mishawaka residents — 26-year-old Sean Rader and 18-year-old Ryland Mayfield — on June 6 near JD’s truck stop along US-12 after a road rage shooting injured one person who was rushed to a hospital, and the suspects will face arraignment tomorrow with charges including accessory after the fact for Rader and three counts of assault with intent to murder plus weapons charges for Mayfield.  WNDU

  • Indiana University Police Academy now trains recruits in Deaf culture awareness and American Sign Language to help them communicate with the Deaf community. Part-time officer Brennan Cox started the nearly three-hour course with Deaf teachers showing signs like 'police' and 'help' to recruits from Bloomington + Indianapolis + South Bend.  InkFreeNews
