- ➤ On Monday afternoon, police found a woman fatally shot inside a home at Franklin Woods mobile home park in Niles Township—leading to the arrest of a man. WNDU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced the formation of an Emergency Alert Task Force to review and improve the state’s alert systems after deadly floods in Texas. The task force will include local county officials and emergency teams and will hold its first meeting on August 6th while livestreaming proceedings. WSBT
- ➤ Superintendent Tim Woodward said at the July 21 meeting that Turkey Creek Regional Sewer District will have four new rotors running by Labor Day to increase plant capacity from 500,000 to 600,000 gallons per day after six months. Mason Engineering will finish the rotor replacement in September and the district will replace 37-year-old valves in August — board discussions on other issues will follow at the next meeting. - ➤ The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office responded after Judge Zappia announced a review of more than 850 probate cases involving former Magistrate Aric Rutkowski and former deputy prosecutor Sarah Troyer.
