- ➤ St. Joseph County Commissioners approved a request from County Recorder Candace Brown to apply for up to $350,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities—intended to preserve the county's oldest records from 1830 and support celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next year. - ➤ Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood warned that cuts to property taxes from Senate Enrolled Act 1 may slow city projects like the Cedar Street Bridge reopening and other needed upgrades. The rule could cut the city’s General Fund by 20% over three years — about $15 million — and affect key services such as police, parks, roads and fire protection. WNDU
