- ➤ Local communities around South Bend will mark the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 with events including a Notre Dame stair climb from 5 to 9 p.m., a 21-mile Memorial Walk beginning at 9:11 a.m., a Mishawaka memorial service at 10:28 a.m.—coinciding with the collapse time of the second tower, and a remembrance ceremony in Warsaw at 6:30 p.m. Additional observances include free veteran tours at Ruthmere Museum in Elkhart and complimentary South Shore Line rides for local health and law enforcement professionals through Sept. 11.
