Indiana is expanding its Power Up Indiana workforce training program to help more residents enter healthcare careers by funding credential paths in nursing, medical imaging, and sonography while they earn regular wages.
Governor Mike Braun said the program run by the Department of Workforce Development will ease local healthcare worker shortages.
Notre Dame will require ACT and SAT scores for the 2027-28 admissions cycle after a test-optional policy that began in 2020.
The university says the scores help assess academic readiness — even as it continues to offer financial aid and free test prep to support all applicants.

Farmers in St. Joseph County are testing agrivoltaics by using solar panels to produce energy & support crops and livestock on shared land.
The experiments aim to offer more stable income while lowering maintenance costs.
Mountain goats that cleared invasive plants along the St. Joseph River finished their mission on Tuesday at the Riverwalk and are now heading home.
Mishawaka Parks noted the effort improved river views & supported the ecosystem.
