  • The new Mishawaka Miracle League Park—a safe place for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities to enjoy baseball—will open Wednesday, giving local residents an inclusive space to play. The park is designed with features to ensure it meets the needs of everyone.  WNDU
  • Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale will return Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26—27 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, featuring food vendors, live entertainment, auctions, children’s activities and tournaments to raise funds for the Mennonite Central Committee’s international relief efforts. Reserved seating for the live quilt auction will be available Friday with bidding set to start Saturday and the silent auction closing at 11:30 a.m.  InkFreeNews

  • On September 16th, Governor Mike Braun said Indiana welcomed data center investment if projects delivered real economic value and did not burden local communities — he explained that new facilities must cover 80% of new electricity generation costs unless construction had begun.  95.3 MNC

SPORTS NEWS

  • A Notre Dame fan and firefighter hosted a long-standing tailgate before the Purdue-Notre Dame game on Sept. 20 — local fans gathered for a pre-game celebration that highlighted his deep-rooted tradition on campus.  WNDU
  • Freshmen cornerbacks Mark Zackery IV and Dallas Golden started for Notre Dame in Saturday’s game against Purdue, with Golden earning his first interception and both giving up touchdowns that showed their inexperience. Coach Marcus Freeman said he trusted the young defenders to learn and improve as Notre Dame worked through injuries and relied more on them—highlighting the challenge of building depth.  South Bend Tribune

  • Purdue sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle—a former NorthWood star—scored a 24 yard touchdown and caught three passes for 66 yards in Saturday, September 20th’s 56 to 30 loss to Notre Dame, marking a memorable homecoming that boosts Purdue’s offense for future games.  South Bend Tribune
  • Last Saturday, Notre Dame beat Purdue 56—30 after nearly two hours of waiting due to bad weather. The Irish ran well with key players scoring several touchdowns including a kickoff return for 100 yards that gave the 21st-ranked team its first win and a 1 to 2 record.  South Bend Tribune
  • WNDU announced today that it will air three college football games on Saturday—beginning at noon with Maryland vs Wisconsin, continuing at 3:30 p.m. with Notre Dame vs Purdue, and finishing at 7:30 p.m. with Illinois vs Indiana—the station will skip its 6 p.m. newscast and resume news updates after the game is expected to end around 11 p.m.  WNDU
