- ➤ A vigil was held at the Grand Blanc High School football field to honor four victims of a targeted church shooting and another will be held tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mishawaka — all faiths are welcome. ABC57

- ➤ At John Young Middle School in Mishawaka, a nine-week reading acceleration class gives extra help to students who nearly passed ILEARN—teacher Jennifer Vargo uses one-on-one and small group sessions to target each student's needs. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Researchers at Notre Dame have partnered with Beacon Health to run a pilot program that gives new mothers regular check-ups and education for one year after their baby is born. The program, which is open to 104 patients from OB-GYN offices in St. Joseph, Elkhart and Marshall Counties, teaches mothers to spot warning signs of complications — a method that previously lowered stress and depression in a trial.
