- ➤ After 11 months of construction, Friday marked the grand opening of Phase II of Rose Park’s renovation with new pickleball and tennis courts, a refurbished basketball court, and tree plantings by students from The Montessori Academy Edison Lakes. - ➤ A portion of Ironwood Drive will be closed for the rest of the month for work on the Wall Street Streetscape Project—construction starts Monday, Oct. 13—and drivers are advised to use Mishawaka Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard via Twyckenham Drive as a detour. WNDU

- ➤ Memorial Hospital in South Bend finished its new patient tower on Friday when a crane placed the final beam—this tower will add two new ICUs and more room for family visits while hiring 100 nurses and 200 staff. The hospital will hold a job fair for new nurses on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in its library. ABC57
