  • South Bend Community School Corporation approved the sale of the Marquette School building—set to become a neighborhood center for local residents.  WNDU
  • Families with loved ones at Highland Cemetery are upset after personal items and decorations like flowers and angel statues were removed from graves without notice. The cemetery’s owners said they removed breakable items—items that posed risks to team members and equipment—to protect workers, a move families call disrespectful.  WNDU
  • County officials broke ground for Anderson Trail County Park in Granger on Wednesday afternoon on a 115-acre site east of Beech Road on Anderson Road. Phase one of the construction will include digging ponds and planting natural grasses, with a temporary opening expected next spring if water levels allow.  WSBT

  • Caterpillar announced at its Lafayette facility that Indiana will receive up to $5M for training workers as part of its $100M workforce pledge + Gov. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Jeff Lakin, a Channel Seed agronomist in northwest Indiana, said corn stalk quality remains average but some fields show brittle stalks that risk falling after recent winds, urging farmers to harvest these areas quickly. He noted that soybean harvest is nearly complete while corn is only halfway finished—full elevators are causing small delays.  95.3 MNC

HEALTH NEWS

  • Notre Dame and Beacon Health System signed a five-year agreement to create a committee that will speed up research in maternal care, trauma treatment and oncology + Beacon Health System Chief Operating Officer Mark Brett said the new plan will help attract more doctors for research and improve care over time.  WVPE
