South Bend will host the 27th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off — local cooks will compete and community members can sample their chili recipes at the event, with details to be announced soon.

Mark Loveless (70) is the engineering manager for software development at AE Techron just off (US 20) in Elkhart, and he said he has no immediate plans to retire because he enjoys his work and stays healthy.

He returned from Silicon Valley after spending 15 years there and running a dairy farm for 17 years, and he now uses more of his skills by managing software test systems for customers.
