- ➤ Eddy Street Commons will host its annual trick-or-treat event for children in costume; kids 12 and under will receive free candy and enjoy games, prizes, and balloon twisting. WNDU

- ➤ Bethel University’s Department of Music and Theatre will present 'Into the Woods' over four performances at the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium, with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 and Nov. 15. The production features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, a book by James Lapine and orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. InkFreeNews
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mishawaka Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hums Elementary School Tuesday afternoon with current students in attendance. The $41 million facility will be built east of the current school on Harrison Road + it will use enclosed classrooms to replace the open-concept design, set to open for the 27-28 school year with the old building demolished afterward. - ➤ Beacon Health is launching its Babies Need to Breathe campaign — aimed at ending sleep-related infant deaths — in St. Joseph County by 2027. The program will focus on teaching parents and caregivers safe sleep practices. WNDU
- ➤ Valparaiso-based HealthLinc expanded its Mishawaka clinic at 420 W. 4th St. by renovating its unused space to offer new areas for women’s health, behavioral health, optometry and chiropractic care— the renovation is expected to add 14,000 visits and serve about 4,667 extra patients in 2026. - ➤ High school senior Nick Shrewsberry officially committed Tuesday to play basketball at Notre Dame — he said he always wanted to join his father's team and play alongside his older brother.
