- ➤ Officials at South Bend International Airport said flight cuts at hubs like Chicago, Charlotte and Indianapolis may lead to travel delays as many passengers depend on connecting flights, and they urged travelers to check airline apps for real-time updates—an FAA directive due to staffing shortages amid the government shutdown caused one delay on a Charlotte flight with no cancellations observed.
