- ➤ The South Bend Cubs are hosting their third annual food and toy drive for free ticket vouchers as fans drop off non-perishable food and new toys at the Cubs Den Team Store from November 18 through December 15—every four items donated earns a voucher for select home games in April. Donations support the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and St. Joseph County Toys for Tots, and a special meet-and-greet is planned on December 13 featuring team mascots Stu and Ivy plus U.S. Marine Corps members. 95.3 MNC

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ South Bend, St. Joseph County, and the Michiana Council of Governments are joining to form a new nonprofit that will manage a land bank program aimed at reducing over 300 vacant, delinquent properties and spurring affordable housing in blighted neighborhoods. The plan will be supported by a Lilly Endowment grant and city funding of $500,000 upfront—plus $300,000 each year for four years—to help create low-interest loans for home renovations. WVPE
- ➤ Due to a shortened holiday week, the city's Central Services Department will adjust leaf pick-up and residents must place their leaves at the curb by November 24th. - ➤ Today, cancer patients, survivors, and advocates mark the American Cancer Society’s 49th Great American Smokeout, thanking lawmakers for standing up to Big Tobacco and urging Hoosiers to quit smoking—cigarette use has dropped 40 percent and Quit Now Indiana enrollments have risen 38 percent amid higher tobacco taxes. 95.3 MNC
