COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Potawatomi Zoo will host its annual event, The Gift of Lights, from November 28 to December 28 with holiday lights, train rides, giraffe feedings for $3, and nightly Santa visits starting at 5 p.m.—families can also enjoy Santa Paws story time and seasonal performances while some exhibits close after dark for safety. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays with discounted admission for youth and free entry for kids ages 2 and under.  South Bend Tribune
  • Yesterday, the Pokagon Band—together with Four Winds Casino—donated 1,000 Thanksgiving dinner boxes to families in need during the holiday week. The distribution included boxes with turkey, potatoes, green beans, squash and pumpkin rolls, and 300 boxes were handed out at The Pillar Center.  WSBT

  • GE Appliances announced new reshoring efforts—over $150 million in domestic contracts including $14 million for Indiana suppliers—as it shifts washer and dryer production from China to its Louisville manufacturing complex.   • The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross warned local residents to take extra kitchen safety measures—using timers and staying near food—as families prepare for Thanksgiving.
