  • The Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Indiana warned shoppers about holiday gift card scams where scammers may use exposed codes or overwrite barcodes; the advisory urged buyers to inspect packaging closely before purchase.  95.3 MNC

CULTURE NEWS

  • Tuesday, Dec. 30, the Indiana Black Expo held its annual Kwanzaa celebration at the St. Joseph County library auditorium — featuring music, free books, a canned food drive, and a fellowship meal that united local community members.  WNDU

  • Notre Dame received a $50.8 million grant from Lilly Endowment to expand its DELTA Network — a faith-based AI ethics framework launched at its Summit on AI, Faith and Human Flourishing earlier this fall.   • South Bend ICU nurse Natalie Raffelock donated bone marrow to a Houston patient on Tuesday, Dec. 30 using a five-day injection process; she now encourages others to register with the National Marrow Donor Program.  95.3 MNC

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Snow tubing is now open at George Wilson Park where local families can enjoy a fun winter attraction — it opened Dec. 30 to provide a new way to experience the chilly season.  WNDU
  • Snow tubing at George Wilson Park is available when snow conditions allow and operates daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with admission at $4 and a tube rental at $3 (hot chocolate and warm-up areas are available).  WNDU

  • Notre Dame defensive lineman Joshua Burnham announced on Dec. 30 that he will join the transfer portal. His move may affect college football team rosters as he seeks a new role.  WNDU

    Long time administrator who passed away recently from heart attack will be honored this Friday Night. Coach Mike Lightfoot former Head Coach at Bethel will share at half time of the Goshen- Mishawaka boys basketball game. I scholarship fund is being launched in Mr Troyers name for a Mishawaka student to receive to attend Bethel University
