If you're anywhere near campus this weekend, you'll feel it. WNDU says the hype keeps growing across the nation, while inside the Guglielmino Athletics Complex the Fighting Irish are keeping the outside chatter shut out.

Miami is the top-ranked team in the first CFP rankings. WSBT reports a win has the potential to vault the Irish into the top spot and go a long way toward securing a playoff place and a potential bye. Coach Marcus Freeman told WSBT Sports he wants the crowd to be loud.

“It's a challenge to our fans to be loud because it impacts the game.”

If you hoped for a top-10 start, the committee had other plans. The first rankings, released Tuesday, left Notre Dame out of the top 10 at No. 11, even though the Irish are fourth in the AP poll.

Goshen News points to the schedule. Notre Dame's one loss is to BYU, the only ranked team it has played, and the paper writes that last year the Irish just missed the playoff after losing to the two best teams they played.

Measles

A measles case has been confirmed in Marshall County, the first the county has seen since 2023. Officials didn't release details about the person or who they may have come in contact with. ABC57 counts 117 known cases in Indiana, and WSBT says health officials call the MMR vaccine the most effective way to prevent measles. ABC57WSBT
